The final event related to the project “Territorial Expanding and Completing Functions of Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS) – Phase 4” of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company was held on May 18, 2021 at the International Congress Center Burgas.
An important step towards the implementation of the concept of smart ports is made by the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) with the implementation of the project “Territorial extension of the scope and upgrading of the Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS) — Phase 4”. The application of the fourth phase of the project led to technological improvement and expansion of the VTMIS system through the introduction of advanced digital infrastructure meeting the highest world standards, as well as through the use of innovative approaches in its construction and operation.
The project, implemented by the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) under the Operational Programme "Transport and Transport Infrastructure" 2014-2020, follows the good European practices in the field of ship traffic management and continuous technological development and improvement in the sector. The expansion and completing the functions of the national VTMIS system has led to a balance between the improvement of BPI Co.’s electronic systems and their technological development.
