“Zonta – Honesty and Trust”

From September 19 to 21, 2025, the International Congress Centre in Burgas will host the 16th District Conference of Zonta International District 30.

Hundreds of Zonta members from seven countries across District 30 will gather to discuss key global challenges, including women’s rights, the fight against gender-based violence, and the exchange of best practices for impactful community projects. The conference aims to contribute to building better world for women and girls.

The main theme of the conference is:

“Women’s rights in challenging times. We dare!”

The keynote speaker will be Mariana Katzarova, who will address global threats to women’s rights.

About Zonta International

Zonta International is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to building a better world for women and girls worldwide.

It works to eliminate violence against women and children, develops educational and social programs, and provides international scholarships and awards. Bulgaria holds a strong position within Zonta’s Central and Eastern European network, with 10 active clubs. Their projects are widely recognized and focus on combating violence in all its forms and empowering women.

The Burgas Zonta Club has twice received the international Zonta Service Award for its contribution to women’s empowerment (2018 in Yokohama, Japan, and 2022 in Hamburg, Germany).

Scholarships and Programs

Zonta International supports women through global educational programs, scholarships, and awards, including:

Amelia Earhart Fellowship – supporting women pursuing doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences and engineering.

Zonta Women in Business Leadership Award – recognizing women with outstanding leadership and ethical impact in business.

Zonta Women in STEM Award – supporting women aged 18–35 in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award – recognizing leadership and civic engagement among young women aged 16–19.

Z and Golden Z Clubs – youth programs fostering leadership, civic engagement, and career development.

This conference further strengthens Burgas as an important international hub for dialogue, human rights, and civic engagement.
